LADIES' NEWS
On Tuesday, July 6, we held a stableford competition for the lady members and can I take this opportunity to apologise to Linda Kromrei, whom I (Michelle Richards) managed to pip into first place on countback.
Linda has played very consistently over the past few weeks and true to form she then proceeded to beat me by a considerable amount of points when we played together on Saturday. I think it was a sweet revenge.
Anyway, back to Tuesday and in first place was Michelle Richards with 35 points, followed by Linda Kromrei also with 35. Michelle and Linda were also the only ladies to return birdies on the day, with Linda getting two and Michelle one.

Thousands of ultra low emission vehicles registered in Pembrokeshire – as campaigners group call for more equal access across UKSaturday, July 10, saw the ladies competing in two separate competitions, with the senior ladies competing for the Dorrit Parry senior salver and the remaining lady members playing a qualifying stableford competition.
Winner of the Dorrit Parry senior salver was Anna Hubbard with an amazing score of 38 points - well done Anna. The stableford competition was won by Dee Truman with a massive score of 43 points, which will also see her achieve a handicap reduction of two shots - congratulations.
The only birdie of the day was scored by Sue Shooter, earning herself £12 credit in the process.
July 2 saw six of our members compete in the second round of the Golfing Union of Wales Ping mixed foursomes in Carmarthen against Builth Wells Golf Club. Ann Dassen and Graham Harrison competed in their match with no shots, but unfortunately lost 2 and 1. Linda Kromrei and Bob Burks gained seven shots from their opponents and won their match 2 and 1. Jeremy and Bethan Morris again didn't get any shots and then lost the match on the 17th hole. Well done to you all for competing and representing the club.
Men's news
The pro's stableford competition held on Tuesday, July 6, was entered by a small number of gents, although it has to be said that the standard of play was exceptionally high, with five out of the eight players who entered, shooting below their handicap.
First place went to Angelo Zeraschi with a gigantic score of 42 points and a handicap decrease of three shots to 22. Second place was a very close run race, with Gareth Roberts just beating Chris Thompson on countback, with both achieving 39 points.
Considering that Chris plays off two, it was no mean feat to come in with 39 points, but congratulations to Gareth for coming second and also getting a handicap reduction to 15.
Three birdies were returned, with Trevor Lewis and Angelo Zeraschi getting 2s on the 16th and Zack Zeraschi achieving one on the third.
On Saturday, July 10, the stableford competition was well supported, considering it was run alongside the Dyfed League match, which we are struggling to get regular support for. Although we appreciate that you enjoy entering the weekend competitions, it would be nice to see more names on the Dyfed League team sheet, as we are always looking for new players.
In first place with an amazing 44 points was Ashley Jones, who achieved a handicap reduction of three shots to 20. Graham Longster came second with 41 and a handicap reduction to 12. In third place was Angelo Zeraschi with 40, also achieving a handicap reduction of a shot to 22.
Three birdie 2s were scored, and all on the 16th hole. These were returned by Ben Price, Rob Evans and Neil Truman, each receiving £8 credit.
Fourteen of our men represented Trefloyne in the Dyfed League match against Derllys Court at home. Congratulations to the Trefloyne team who won the match four games to three.
The next match is against Priskilly Golf Club away on Saturday, July 17.

clubhouse news
All staff and members would like to say Happy Birthday to Diane Neale, who held her 65th birthday party in the clubhouse and restaurant on Saturday night. Let's just say a long and enjoyable night was had by all and Diane did enjoy, although judging by the photo above, I just think she was annoyed with me for taking it in the first place (sorry Di).
