The second Children in Need Texas Scramble was held at the club recently, with 11 teams taking part.
The weather was fine and the team draw evened the competition.
Pudsey Bear made an appearance in more than one instance and all teams headed to their varying starting points for the shotgun start.
In the effort of raising funds, many penalties were set for the day and players tried desperately to hold their tongues as any swearing or profanity cost them.
Penalties of 50p ranged from not hitting the first fairway to catching the bunker on 16. Of course, the trees and ditch on 10 made healthy contributions to the pot, but the greatest came in the bar as the evening wore on - nothing could be said without the likelihood of the pot being thrust in front of you so you could dig deeper into your pockets.
The winning team again featured owner, Kim Beynon, partnered by Darrell Jones, Beth McMann and Jack Murphy (who it is believed does not miss putts).
Coming a close second was the team of Mel Neale, Heather Thorne, Bob Burks and Chris Collinson, with third place going to Alan Chapman, Henrik Jaakola, Michelle Richards and Hannah Morgan.
Nearest the pins were Heather Thorne and Daniel Tiesing.
Long drive on the 17th went to Kristalle Blum and John James.
The format was popular and gave many people the chance of playing with members they had never joined before. With the penalties, raffle and donations, approximately £500 was raised for Children in Need.
Congratulations and thanks must go to Ann Dassen for her organisation and generous prize donations for the event. A great day was had by all.
