Unfortunately, we lost 4-3 at home against Aberystwyth in the Dyfed League, but Martin Yates and Paul Howells played the next round in the Daily Mail Foursomes and won. Gwyneth Jewitt and Michelle Richards played the Jubilee Foursomes at home against Cardigan Golf Club and won, putting them through to the next round. Forthcoming events
Tuesday, June 17 - Mixed Greensomes Foursomes, 9.30 am tee-off. It's open to all members, yellow and red tees. £2 per team of two. To guarantee a place, please book in advance in the pro-shop. Club championships are now open. £5 pre-entry for the weekend of July 12 and 13. Please book asap in the pro-shop. Another Friday Fun Night is planned for June 20. This one will be a Bisque Stableford. Tee-off between 5-6 pm, followed by happy hour and Arno's popular barbecue. The list is up in the shop now. For anyone who doesn't know what 'bisque' is, it's when you get to choose how many shots you want on each hole.
NSPCC day
For anyone not playing in the competition today (Friday), you are still welcome to come along and support the charity, maybe by buying a raffle ticket or two for this worthwhile cause. Seniors' v South Pembs.
Trefloyne Seniors' had a very successful home match against local rivals from South Pembs. G.C. In blustery and occasionally wet conditions, the home advantage was very much in evidence, Trefloyne winning by 7.5 to 2.5. Six games were decided on the 17th and 18th greens, four were very good wins and the last game was a hot starter, the opponents arrived too late. Results were as follows: John James and Colin Jenkins one up against Ken Mountney and Mike Leighs; John Sheppard and David Owen one down against Harold James and Keith Loverton; Graham Harrison and Roger Cryer 7/6 against Derek Goodridge and Frank O'Sullivan; Pat Casement and Keith Wormington 5/4 against John George and Jack Tindall; Barry Wood and Terrance Morgan 4/3 against Kevin Dewhurst and David Rees; Glyn Latcham and Steve Jones halved against Brian Williams and Peter Bowling; Darrell Jones and Mike Burke two down against Jim Boyd and Roy Harris; Gary Hopkins and Phil Rees 5/3 against Bob Harris and Richard Davies; Terry Harvey and Glyn Jones two up against Mac McCormack and Henry Davies; Alan Chapman and Trevor Lewis walk-over. The only Trefloyne player to record a birdie 2 was Glyn Hatcham.
