The Club Championship weekend was held on Saturday and Sunday, August 25 and 26, followed by a Texas Scramble on Bank Holiday Monday. In almost perfect weather conditions, on a course looking fine with the greens in as good a condition as they have been all year, a very good field played the 36-hole events on the Saturday and Sunday, competing for the Tiger Scratch Salver, the Rabbits Scratch Salver, the Kitson European Trophy and the Trefloyne Challenge Cup. Despite the conditions, many players seemed to find scoring a challenge, although competition amongst the leaders was fierce. On the Saturday, Ben Price came in with the best gross score in the Tigers division with 78 and Sam Fletcher in the Rabbits with 90. Best overall nett score was recorded by Dave McMann on 68. On Sunday, the best gross score in the Tigers division was 70, scored by James Maxwell, with Samu Jaakola the best gross in the Rabbits on 87. Best overall nett score was Samu Jaakola on 68 after a countback against James Maxwell, also on 68. The Tigers Salver was won by Ben Price with an aggregate score for the 36 holes of 158, followed by James Maxwell on 159 and Dylan Phillips on 169. The Rabbits Salver was won by Samu Jaakola with an aggregate of 183, with Mel Beeley second on 187 and Dan Edwards third with 188. The Kitson European Trophy was won by Samu Jaakola with a best aggregate nett score for the 36 holes of 145, followed by Ben Price with 148 and Matthew McMann with 150. The well deserving Trefloyne 2007 Club Champion was Ben Price with the best gross score of 158. In the Ladies Club Championships on the Saturday, in division one, Caroline Fletcher recorded the best gross score with an 89 and in division two, Di Neale had the best gross on 102. The best nett score was Ceryn Harris with 66. On the Sunday, Caroline Fletcher again came in with the best gross score in division one with 96 and Fair Fraser the best in division two with 102. The best nett score on the Sunday was Fair Fraser with 70. On an aggregate basis over the two days, the winner of the best nett score was Ceryn Harris with 145, with Michaela Edwards second on 148. In the Trefloyne Ladies Salver, Fair Fraser was first with an aggregate gross of 215, with Michaela Edwards second on 218. The 2007 Ladies Club Champion was Caroline Fletcher with 185 and Sheila Phillips second with 193. The Club Championships were followed by a very sociable Texas Scramble on the Monday, with lunch very kindly provided by the Beynon family. The winners were Linda Kromrei, Brian Norman and James and Bob Maxwell with a nett 58.75. Second were Kristalle and Nick Blum, Elliott Morrison and Christine Burton also on 58.75, but losing on a countback. Third were Samu and Harri Jaakloa, Graham Harrison and Paul Parkinson and fourth were Sue Ensor, Nigel and Maura Rimmel and Alan Chapman. Only three-eights of a stroke separated the first four places. Longest drive for the men was struck by Mel Neale and Ann Dassen for the ladies. Nearest the pin for the men was Brian Norman and for the ladies, Christine Burton. Nearest a line drawn down the length of the fairway on the 18th hole was Jacqui Evans for the ladies and Samu Jaakola for the men.

Summer golf results for Trefloyne Ladies August started with a fine medal win for Heather Thorne on 76 followed by Sheila Phillips with an 80. In the following mid-week medal, Vicki Burks took the honours with a smooth 77 with Ann Morgan, on her summer holiday break from teaching, coming second with another 80 and Wendy Derrick making an excellent effort to win Division Two with another very competitive 77. Fair Fraser added to her collection when she won the Stableford Bowl on Sunday, August 11, with 31 points, closely followed by Heather Thorne on 30 points. Luckily, the sun shone on the 22nd when Julie Jenkins had managed to persuade most of the ladies to get up for another breakfast scramble, this time with a continental theme. The gorgeous up and coming Bluebelle team of Jill Morris, Sue Ash and Chris Lewis (alias Blod) stormed in to win (they were just desperate for breakfast really) with a cracking 22 points over nine holes, narrowly beating another fantastic team of Rita Collin, Maura Rimell and Ann Morgan who scored 21 points. Maura contributed magnificently to her teams total with an accurate shot to the par three sixth landing just a few inches from the hole! Everyone enjoyed an exceptionally healthy breakfast beautifully prepared by Sarah and Tom and the team in the kitchen which despite cries at first of 'where's the bacon', everyone agreed was much more satisfying and left us all feeling very energetic (except for Kristalle who talked her Mum into buying her the cooked variety). The last 12 hole stableford of the month was won by Barbara Evans with an excellent 22 points, just taking the honour from Sue Ash also on 22 points. Jane Adams was the victor in the Bluebelle section. Also during August, the Trefloyne Ladies took a day trip to Haverfordwest Golf Club and had a brilliant day out there. So many of them shone on the course, but some of the winners were Michelle, Krystalle, Maura, Barbara and Chris. The general consensus was that it was great golf despite the nettles and everyone is now asking where are they going next?!
