The Team Open Day was held on Friday in variable conditions, with those teeing-off early in the morning playing mainly in dry weather and those in the afternoon suffering the major disadvantage of playing in very wet and trying weather. Winners were Keith Hubbard, Steve Jones and Duggie Betambeau, with Graham Harrison, Steve Oulsnam and Alan Chapman in second place and John James, Darrel Jones and Gary Hopkins coming third. The best individual stableford scores were Dai Rees with 42 points and Duggie Betambeau on 41. For the ladies, the best individual score was recorded by Olive Maher, with the new-look Vicky Burkes in second place. The longest drive (on the 18th) was by Darrel Jones and nearest the pin (on the 12th) was D. Jacob. The ladies longest drive was by Vicky Burkes. Junior Open Day was held on Sunday in awful weather conditions and it is very much to the credit of the juniors that so many played. The older ones went the full 18 holes, while the younger players, who were scheduled to play a nine-hole stableford, were limited to just six holes because of the weather. The boys 18-hole medal was won by James Maxwell on 77, with Sam Barton being the nett winner on 75. For the girls, the gross winner was Emma Guerreiro on 91 and the nett winner Carly Thomas on 64. Winner of the boys 18-hole stableford was Ronan Scarlett with 37 points. In the six holes stableford, the winner was Bethan Morris with 12 points, with runner-up Henrik Jaakola also on 12. Nearest the pin (on the 12th) was Matthew Jones, who also took the longest drive on the 18th. The girls longest drive (on the eighth) was by Emma Guerreiro.
