Heatherton Country Sports Park has completed its 'Trees For Life' school project, which has been carried out by Simon Hilling for a large majority of the local primary schools. Said Simon: "The project was a success, with all children being educated on trees and their importance, via a power-point presentation. Alongside the presentation, hands-on activities were performed with the children to raise awareness of the environment, and to improve the way children treat and think about trees." The schools project was in aid of the celebration of the new Tree Tops Trail, which opened on July 5 for the junior course, while the three adult courses are opening from July 26. The Tree Tops Trail is an exciting and exhilarating high ropes adventure that is performed high up in the trees with a range of challenging obstacles to overcome while in a secure harness. Pupils from the local schools are shown in the picture above participating on the new junior course, on the opening day.
