An investigation is underway after a train collided with a car on a level crossing in South Pembrokeshire.

The incident occurred shortly after 5.35 pm on Monday when a car was struck by a train at Summerhill Lane, Manorbier Newton.

A spokesman for British Transport Police (BTP) said: "Officers attended, alongside colleagues from Dyfed Powys Police and discovered a car had been struck a glancing blow by a train at a rural level crossing.

"Nobody was injured as a result of the incident and officers are now working to determine the cause of the incident and will inform the Rail Accident Investigation Branch."

The train involved, which was carrying eight passengers, was the 5.09 pm Pembroke to Swansea service.
