With the withdrawal of dog warden patrols on Pembrokeshire’s beaches being proposed, could traffic wardens be tasked with taking over duties in places such as Tenby?
Speaking at Tuesday night’s meeting of Tenby Town Council, Clr. Mike Evans told his colleagues that he was submitting a ‘notice of motion’ asking the question as to how the county council was to safeguard its Blue Flag Beaches, in light of this proposal, and was suggesting a trial scheme utilising the services of the Civil Enforcement Officers in respect of enforcing dog bans on beaches.
“This would help meet the criteria attached to such a prestigious award,” he said, explaining that the trial could start with those beaches which had a PCC owned/controlled car park adjacent or in close proximity where the CEOs were already deployed.
