As a local resident, born and bred in the town, I feel that I must comment on the letter in last week's issue of the Observer from Alistair Mackay.
I have never met Mr. Mackay, but you can be assured that he does not represent the opinions of Tenby people. My opinion is that most of the local people support the concept of a traffic-free centre. The effect on the town centre during the traffic-free period is quite frankly magical. If we have the good sense to follow this up and reclaim Tudor Square for the pedestrian it will be of benefit to everyone.
We all understand that not everyone will be satisfied, but for the benefit of Tenby we must go forward. It is sad that it would appear that only those who oppose the scheme get into print. It is about time that the authentic voice of Tenby was heard.
