On Boxing Day - the most important day of the year for hunting - there was a huge turn-out of loyal supporters for the traditional meet of the South Pembrokeshire Hunt at the Cresselly Arms.
A combination of a glorious, almost spring-like morning and the need to move out of doors after the festive indulgences, brought out a crowd of probably 700, together with another hundred followers - aged from 70-year-olds down to just three - mounted on horses and the littlest of ponies.
The annual holiday-week outing to Cresswell Quay has also become a major event in the social calendar, not only for farmers and other locals, but for so many friends and relatives home for Christmas and those who retain weekend cottages in the area.
Meanwhile, another gathering of probably 1,000 supporters crowded the Castle Square and along the High Street in Haverfordwest for the customary meet of the Pembrokeshire hounds, where there were again more than 70 mounted followers.
