The May meeting opened with a short business meeting discussing mainly the trip to Aberglasney and the Drama Festival at Burry Port, both of which have now taken place and were very successful.

The day at Aberglasney was a bit showery, but this did not really spoil the day and was compensated for by an excellent lunch and the beautiful tranquil surroundings.

The presentation at the Music Festival was 'Musical Chairs', a sketch taken from '1066 and all that', telling the familiar story of Henry VIIIth and his six wives. Tenby was one of 11 guilds taking part and although it is not a competitive occasion, they received many compliments on the presentation, produced with her usual flair by Pauline Allen, with Pauline herself as a magnificent Henry and Angie Hicks, Rosemary John, Maureen Webb, Valerie Cochlin, Joy Griffiths and Joan Osborne as the unfortunate wives. The excellent stage manager, without whom they could not even have put the play on, was Anne Lillycrop, who stepped in when they were in dire straits!

The next Federation event will be the quiz in November.

Owing to unforeseen circumstances, the programme arranged for June 4 has had to be abandoned and the guild shall now have one of their requested members' afternoons, with items of their own choice performed by themselves and with the tuneful 'Dancing through the 30s' which they performed at the Music Festival earlier in the year, to end the afternoon. Please let Rosemary or Joy know what your item will be as soon as possible so that they can make up the programme.
