Although there were rather less than usual members attending the February meeting due to illness and bad weather, the welcome extended to the speaker could not have been warmer.

Mrs. Sue Baldwin, a member of staff at the Tudor Merchant's House, gave a fascinating account of life as it was lived and the work of the merchant in Tudor times - all off the cuff with not a note in sight and, no doubt, everyone went home with a great deal more knowledge of life in that colourful period of history. Thank you, Sue, for a most enjoyable and informative afternoon.

Names were taken for the 55th birthday lunch to be held at Carrington's on Thursday, February 26 (12.30 for 1 pm). If your name has not yet gone forward, please contact Rosemary or Joy as soon as possible. All names must be in by Monday, February 23.

The Drama Festival at Burry Port on Thursday, May 21, was discussed and Pauline Allen gave news of the item they hope to perform. Rehearsals will take place at Church House on Thursday mornings at 10.30 am (subject to availability).

The Guild has been extremely fortunate in that Valerie Cochlin has agreed to be new secretary in place of Joan Webb, who is moving over to be treasurer. Both these members are very valued in Guild and thanks go to them (with a great sense of relief) for undertaking these appointments.

The next meeting on Thursday, March 5, will be the annual general meeting when subscriptions are due.
