The October meeting of Tenby Townswomen's Guild was held in the Education Centre last Thursday. The secretary and treasurer presented their reports, and the chairman reported that the Federation's 75th birthday celebrations and service at St. David's Cathedral on September 25 had been very well attended and a great success. A very uplifting sermon was preached by the Rev. Michael John, of St. Mary's Church, Tenby, and the Guild thank him very much for attending the service and taking an active role. The Music Group will meet on Thursday, October 21, and members are asked to note that there will be a Federation quiz in Swansea on November 17. Tenby is hoping to field a team of three and volunteers and supporters are asked to give their names to the chairman. The flowers from the top table were sent to Mrs. Hilda Davies and the raffle was won by Mrs. Eva Williams. Following the business session, a most interesting talk, illustrated by slides, was given by Mr. Candler on the history and present usage of Carew Castle and Mill. A warm vote of thanks to Mr. Candler was given by Mrs. Ann Lukes. The next meeting will be on Thursday, November 4, in the Education Centre.
