A walkabout with representatives of Pembrokeshire County Council has been called for by a local councillor in order to clamp down on unneeded signage in parts of Tenby.
Speaking at Tuesday night's meeting of Tenby Town Council, Clr. Mrs. Christine Brown claimed that there were too many signs on different corners in the town that could do with being removed
"There are some signs that are repeated and that I'm sure we can get rid of, as the brown signs look better anyway and carry the same information," she said, with her colleague Clr. Mrs. Sue Lane recommending that it would be beneficial for the whole of the town council to embark on a walkabout of the town in the near future.
"It's been a long time since the whole town council has gone on a proper walkabout; we get to see everything that way and pick up on different issues," she commented.
The town clerk said that Tenby Civic Society had already written to the county council making specific reference to signage that was up against the town walls and that he would write to the authority's traffic engineer, Ben Blake, on the matter.
