A former Mayor of Narberth has called for all organisations and groups to 'pull together' to ensure all events run smoothly over the days when the funfair visits the town.
The comments made by Clr. Colin Williams were made at Tuesday night's meeting of the Town Council when a copy of a letter sent to Pembrokeshire County Council from the rugby club was raised.
The club were concerned about the loss of car parking over last weekend due to the fair being sited on the Town Moor and called for the fair not to be allowed to be in Narberth over a weekend.
A copy of a letter sent to the county council from Elaine Lloyd, of the Friends of Narberth School who was concerned about the congestion the fair caused in close proximity to the school was also read, but Clr. Williams pointed out that there were no problems as far as headteacher, Mrs. Edna Davies was concered as she had received assistance from the police with regards parking for her staff for which she was most appreciative.
"Everyone needs to pull together over the three days the fair is here and I for one would like it to continue," he said.
In addition, the council, who had asked for the fair to return to visit Narberth in the first instance, agreed with a suggestion from Clr. Henry Langen to write to Pembrokeshire County Council themselves informing the authority they were in favour of having the fair in Narberth and they wished it to return to the town.
