An Oxfordshire based cricket club, named after a famous New Zealand all-rounder, are set to hit Tenby for 'six' when they embark on a tour of South Wales this weekend. Cairns Fudge Cricket Club will be facing Barry Wanderers CC on route today (Friday) to play Llansteffan CC on Saturday and Lamphey CC on Sunday. Cairns Fudge Cricket Club was founded in Oxford back in 2004, by Andy Small and Daf Howells. The club, who play matches in and around Oxfordshire and London, are officially backed by international cricket legend Chris Cairns, who they are named in tribute to, as he was a favourite amongst the players. After Chris retired from test cricket he set up a family fudge business Cairns Fudge Ltd., hence the name Cairns Fudge Cricket Club. The team, who hope to join the Oxfordshire Cricket Associtaion league next year, will be staying at Tenby House Hotel in Tudor Square during their tour.
