A further meeting between local councillors and representatives of Pembrokeshire County Council to discuss the future of Tenby’s Tourist Information Centre will be held next week.

The town clerk told members of the town council at their meeting on Tuesday night that PCC’s head of procurement, Paul Ashley-Jones, and head of cultural services, Mike Cavanagh, would meet with councillors at the Mayor’s Parlour on Friday. March 29, to discuss the facility.

Tenby’s Tourist Information Centre has been earmarked for closure along with PCC customer service centres in Fishguard, Milford Haven and Neyland.

Town councillors have stated the need to work with the authority to find alternative ways of keeping the TIC open, after PCC indicated that they would consider looking at revenue generating ideas over the summer and liaising with interested parties to find a more permanent solution until October, when a final decision on the TIC in Tenby will be made.
