A fundraiser from St. Florence is embarking on a fitness challenge to raise money for the NHS.
Victoria Walters who has Down’s Syndrome is using her daily exercise allowance around the village to achieve her fundraising goal, as well as using the treadmill indoors.
In 2018 she set up the ‘Tors Takes on Africa’ challenge to help raise funds as she was given the opportunity to visit Lesotho with the Hijinx Theatre Company to work with the communities of young people both with and without learning disabilities.
Now she was determined to set herself a new challenge and raise money for a very important cause the ‘inspirational’ health care workers, and set about starting her challenge on Saturday, April 25 and for 25 days will be walking in total 125km to be achieved by getting out for her daily exercise measured through her fitbit/strava), with Tors’ aim to achieve 5km a day.
Victoria wants the NHS to know how proud she is of them and the work they and all key workers do - she has even created her own T-shirt to wear whilst walking in support of health care workers.
