The Wales Audit Office have given Dyfed Powys Police top marks for the way they use their resources.
In a letter received this week, from the independent auditors, they applauded the way the force manages its resources giving a rating of four, the highest score available.
They based their scores on five themes: financial management; financial reporting; financial standing, internal control and value for money.
Andrew Bevan, director of finance and resources for the force, said: "We are delighted with the report from the Wales Audit Office. They have rated Dyfed Powys Police as performing strongly with our use of resources.
"Public sector organisations are spending public money. People living in our force area can be reassured that we are spending money wisely and allocating resources where they are most required.
"We know that the settlement this year is going to be difficult and we are constantly striving to ensure that we use the money we have in the best possible way. This independent report tells us that we are doing well."
Chief Constable Ian Arundale added: "We want to ensure that we are providing a level of front line policing that people want. To do this we need to manage our resources well. This report tells us that we are doing just that."
