Mr. Fred Brash, one of Pembrokeshire's best-known aircraft modellers, has presented the Wales Air Ambulance with a welcome boost.

Fred, 85 years young, organised a model aircraft display and flying exhibition by members of Haverfordwest Model Club on Sunday, June 27.

The event was held in sweltering conditions at Llandissilio Village Hall and playing fields.

A total of £360 was raised through admission fees and a raffle at the event.

Mike Ashbridge from Wales Air Ambulance was present at the event and commented: "Fred is one of the friendliest, most enthusiastic people I have met and his support for the air ambulance is wonderful.

"He'll be present at the Haverfordwest Model Show at Scolton Manor House Country Park on July 25 and 26 and I'm looking forward to catching up with him again."

The show supports Wales Air Ambulance and in 2008 was able to present the charity with a donation of £2,170.
