The Friends of St Florence school raised over £300 last Friday when parents and friends joined in a 'Back to School' evening with a proper school dinner and team quiz. School cook Alison Osborn cooked up a storm of a meal with melon cocktail, followed by beef lasagne or vegetable crumble with jacket potato and salad, finishing off with a hearty apple pie and custard. Parents were really impressed with the excellent food and full of praise for Alison. "It was a school dinner alright, but not as I remember them, this was brilliant!" said an enthusiastic Dad as he queued up for 'seconds'. Headteacher Gary Davies said: "There was a really nice atmosphere in the school and we all had a lot of fun with the quiz. It was very sporting of Alison to cook for us all and a great opportunity to show parents the high standard of the food cooked here for the children." Alison, too, was delighted with the response. "I really enjoyed cooking it," she said, "and it's lovely to see people enjoying eating it as well." The Friends of St. Florence School are very grateful to Pembrokeshire County Council catering services division for their support in arranging this fund- raising event.
