Orielton CP School has been praised by education inspectors in a recent report.
A report by Estyn based on an inspection of the community primary school in May found that the school's current performance was good and its prospects for improvement were also good.
The report highlighted pupils' attitude and commitment to learning and said their behaviour was very good.
"Pupils enjoy school and are well motivated. They have positive attitudes to learning and are keen to participate in the wide variety of activities on offer," the report said.
"They say they feel valued and supported by all staff at the school. All pupils work hard, contribute well and do their best. They are proud of their school."
Estyn described the school as a close and caring community, with pupils, parents, staff and governors all working effectively to create this.
The report found that standards were good with particular reference to speaking and listening, reading and the use of purposeful writing across the curriculum.
ICT and numeracy skills were also used effectively. Pupils made appropriate progress and those with additional learning needs achieved their targets and made good progress.
The report added that more able and talented pupils achieve well too.
Teaching was good with all members of staff at the school contributing positively to the learning environment of the school.
"Teachers have high expectations of pupils and they create a positive learning environment in all classes," it said.
The report said leadership and management of the school were good with the newly appointed executive head teacher providing strong leadership.
"The head teacher, assistant head, staff and governors work closely together to create a whole-school ethos that encourages and supports teamwork," the report said.
"The governing body is supportive and governors are very knowledgeable about the school's performance. They challenge the school's performance in their role of critical friend."
The report added that the school's self-evaluation report was comprehensive and conveyed an accurate picture of the school's strengths and areas for development. Targets clearly focused on raising standards and the school was making sound progress in achieving these targets.
The report identified four recommendations - improving Welsh language skills, extending planning of the skills curriculum, continuing the good practice in marking and to carry on with the support of the local authority to improve the school buildings and site - all targets that had been recognised by the school as areas for ongoing improvement.
Head teacher Clive Condon said the school and governing body were very pleased with the report as it recognised the achievements of the pupils and the very positive and supportive nature of the school.
"We are a community school where everyone is given the opportunity and support to achieve as well as they can in a warm and caring environment," he said.
