Naomi Tydeman, a member of the RI (Royal Institute of Painters in WaterColour), has won the prestigious Turner Watercolour Award at the Mall Galleries in London this week.
The award of £1,000, plus an engraved bronze medal, is given equally to members of both the RI and The Royal Watercolour Society.
Naomi, who runs her own studio gallery in Tenby, won the prize with a group of four paintings inspired by the beaches near her home.
Naomi Tydeman said after receiving the award: "Turner has inspired us all - whether overtly or subliminally, Turner has worked his eloquence and mastery over all of us.
"I remember standing in front of his Venetian watercolours and just weeping with disbelief at the sheer luminosity and technical brilliance of his paintings.
"To have been selected for the prize from amongst some of the best watercolourists working in Britain today has to be one of the most memorable moments of my life."
