WHEN local electrician Peter Brace took on new apprentice Luke Guymer recently to work alongside him learning the trade, kitting him out with his own set of tools was a major priority and necessity.
Unfortunately, though, 17-year-old Luke, who will soon be studying at Carmarthen Tech while working alongside Peter, was ineligible to receive any further funding from Pembrokeshire County Council, who partly pay towards college tuition fees, meaning he would have to fund his own tools of the trade.
However, on hearing of Luke's dilemma, Mike Carrington, of Newey and Eyre Ltd., electrical distributors in Pembroke Dock, stepped in and kindly donated a brand new box of tools for Luke to use for his working needs.
"I'd just like to say what a fantastic gesture this is from Mike and what a great deal of help it will be for Luke in starting off in the trade," said Peter.
