Sir,

As a born-and-bred 'Sandersfooter,' whose family roots go deep into the history of Amroth parish, I was pleased to read your report of the successful Saundersfoot supper in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support.

I was also pleased to note that Mrs. Pauline Davies, who lives in Amroth, was the chairman for the evening.

Would it be too much to hope that in the interests of common purpose and political correctness, we can now look forward to the day when reports of the Amroth Community Council will tell us that the Amroth Community Council now has a chairman rather than an inarticulate block of wood (chair).

Roscoe Howells,

Amroth.
