Sir,

Too little, too late!

Having read last week’s Tenby Observer, I find myself asking the question ‘Where have Clrs. Williams and Preston been for the last four years?’

The future of Tenby Infants School was dealt a death blow years ago. Although I and countless others voiced our dismay, not a single member of the council said a word, either for or against.

Clr. Sue Perkins stated that the building was unfit for purpose. When I enquired what evidence this was based on, I was not given an answer, something which I continue to wait on.

So why now are these councillors up in arms? It is now only weeks until the demolition date.

Throughout this debacle, Pembrokeshire County Council have refused to entertain any objections to the new school and refused to listen to any concerns over the scandalous decision to demolish a perfectly usable building.

I am therefore left wondering what could have been, if Clrs. Williams and Preston had thought to add their support at the time.

Sandra Williams,

Tenby.
