A Pembrokeshire young farmer has started her summer holidays in Scandinavia, representing Wales on an international exchange programme. After finishing her A-levels, Non Thorne, aged 18, from Tiers Cross YFC, is spending two weeks on an exchange with young farmers in Finland. Non said: "I'm looking forward to the exchange following months of hard work in preparation for my A-levels." Non, of Studdolph Farm, Steynton, has just completed her A-levels in art and design, technology and religious education at Ysgol y Preseli and is hoping to go on to study an agriculture and business studies course at Aberystwyth in September. She has been an active member of Tiers Cross YFC for six years years and has taken the posts of secretary and minute secretary. The current chairman of the county's youth forum, Non was the Pembrokeshire Junior Member of the Year in 2005 and is a County YFC Queen attendant this year. When time allows, she enjoys socialising with her friends, showing her pedigree Herefords, shopping and keeping fit. Non will be joined on her travels by Diane Mosey, a member of Llanon YFC, Carmarthenshire. Non's flight to Finland was sponsored by the Hereford Society and Wales YFC's international programme is sponsored by Barclays.
