With only a month to go before Tenby Boxing Day's raft race, it is time to start building your raft.

Last year's race was won by Team Ky, who stormed to victory demonstrating overwhelming technical and muscular superiority over the second place Team Josie, who had won the previous year.

If there was any doubt that the four times champions Team Ky were going to be able to recover from their unexpected and humiliating loss in 2009 to Team Josie, this was immediately put to rest.

Right from the starter's gun, it was clear that the members of Team Ky had learnt from their defeat and come back smarter and stronger.

It was an awesome display of craftsmanship, raw power and teamwork of which there would be echos later in the year in the Welsh rugby team's valiant efforts in the rugby World Cup in New Zealand!

Also deserving of mentions are Team Abi, who came third and displayed real grit and determination by getting their waterlogged and incredibly heavy raft around the course.

Also, Team Celvac, who entered the race for the first time last year and who, if given a more streamlined craft, would have had a real chance of victory.

Finally, if there had been a separate prize for the 'most attractive raft', this would surely have gone to Team Josie - their life-like dragon-raft was resplendent on the famous raft race course.

This year's competition for the Golden Monkey Raft Race Trophy will be taking place at 11 am, on the North beach, before the swim.

Teams must be made up of four to eight members, all of which must have lifejackets. Also, the rafts must have been built from scratch - which means no canoes or surfboards.
