Sir, Following the introduction of the Driver Certificate of Professional Competence in 2008, drivers of goods vehicles now have until September 10, 2014, to complete the mandatory 35 hours periodic training. Most hauliers have implemented a programme of training, but some independent drivers have yet to start the programme. This is a reminder to all that if continuing to drive commercial vehicles after September 10, you must be in possession of a driver qualification card (DQC).
