TENBY rock 'n' roll trio Easy Tigerz hit the road this Spring bringing their mix of '50s classics and original rockabilly to venues across West Wales starting with the Lifeboat, Tenby, on Sunday, February 26.
The three-piece - featuring musicians from Kilgetty, St. Florence and Pentlepoir - are also on the line-up for the launch night of the Bass Slappin' Wildcats Club at the Garage in Swansea on Saturday, March 24.
The new Wildcats club will be bringing the UK's top rockabilly and psychobilly bands to Wales over the coming months, as well as promoting the best new acts from Wales. The early '50s sound, as made famous by Elvis Presley, Carl Perkins, Johnny Cash and Roy Orbison, is enjoying a major revival with Chris Isaak's tribute to the Sun Artists storming into the top 10 album charts this month.
Easy Tigerz are heavily influenced by the '50s era, and features an authentic rock 'n' roll line-up with double bass, guitar and drums. The Tigerz' set also mixes in contemporary numbers by Imelda May, Black Keys and Paloma faith, and songs with an early '60s, B-Movie vibe.
On Sunday at the Lifeboat, Tenby, Easy Tigerz will be playing tracks off their forthcoming album, which is currently being recorded at Western Star Studios, home to the UK's leading independent rockabilly label.
