MEMBERS of the public had a chance to sample Pembrokeshire Breakfast produce recently. Fresh food from the county topped the menu at the recent Farmers Market in Haverfordwest. Shoppers were able to taste a range of local products, from healthy bacon sandwiches to carrot and cranberry muffins and award-winning marmalades. The taster session marked the start of Farmhouse Breakfast Week, which was held between January 23 and 29. Organised by the Home Grown Cereal Authority, the event aims to encourage people to get their day off to a good start by having a healthy breakfast - not just in January, but all year round. Kate Morgan, Pembrokeshire County Council's food officer, said a healthy breakfast could aid concentration and mental performance, and provide energy.
