A bid to introduce a residents parking scheme in Tenby's Augustus Place was backed by the town council this week.
Mr. Barrie Davies, Pembrokeshire County Council's head of infrastructure management wrote to town councillors on Monday night seeking their views on the proposal.
Clr. Mickey Folland revealed that he had met council officers and residents on site and was fully supportive of the proposal.
He felt a residents parking scheme would make those living in Jones Terrace, Augustus Place and Hamilton Court eligible for permits and would assist people delivering meals on wheels, while helping to curb the problem of people using the cul-de-sac for all day parking while working in the town.
"These people who park there while at their place of employment in the town have no business to be parked there," he commented. "At this time of year, if they want free parking, the upper floors of the multi-storey car park are available to them. I fully support this proposal."
