Pembrokeshire will be celebrating 30 years of Playday this year.

Playday is the national day for play, traditionally held on the first Wednesday in August.

It is the biggest play sector event in the UK and highlights the importance of play in children’s lives.

Since the first celebration in 1987, Playday provides an opportunity for the play sector to raise awareness about the importance of play in children’s lives.

To celebrate Playday, children, young people and communities get together and play at hundreds of community events across the UK.

This year’s event in Pembrokeshire is on Wednesday, August 2, is once again being held at Scolton Manor and Park near Haverfordwest.

The free family day out offers loads of fun activities for all ages.

There will be a live samba band to jive to and play along with and an opportunity for children to make their own noodle horse and ride around the gymkhana.

Other activities include toasting your own marshmallows on an open fire, playing hide and seek in the woods and a chance to develop circus skills.

These and many more activities run from 10 am to 3 pm
