This year for the first time, 38 artists working in studios across the northern half of the county as part of the North Pembrokeshire Open Studios are inviting you to come and visit them. Here is your chance to see artists at work, to talk to the artists in relaxed and informal surroundings and to view work in progress as well as finished pieces and to ask questions and see how it is done.

All the artists are established practitioners in their fields which include painting, printmaking, photography, pottery, textiles, sculpture and glass and they are looking forward to welcoming you over the coming months. While some are based in towns like St. Davids, Fishguard and Newport others are scattered in less populated parts of the coast and countryside so that studio visits will also provide the opportunity to explore some more out of the way parts of our wonderful county at the same time.

While there is no charge for studio visits, most of the artists will have work for sale to visitors who are unable to resist and will be happy to discuss commissions. Greetings cards and other small items will be available in many studios too.

All the information can be found on the website: www.npopenstudios.co.uk where there are also links to individual artists websites to help potential visitors decide which artists they would like to visit and when. A printed brochure is also available, free to pick up in libraries, information centres, galleries and other locations around Pembrokeshire. Please direct any further queries to the individual artists or send an email to Andrew the coordinator on [email protected]

The artists are hoping to see you soon.

Visitors to Art Matters Gallery in South Parade and White Lion Street in Tenby between 2001 and 2017 may be interested to know that John and Margaret are busy painting in their retirement and are taking part in the open studios at John’s new studio not far from Solva.

They are looking forward to seeing friends old and new. Further information as above and on John’s website: www.johnfart.co.uk
