Sir,

With regard to the article published in last week's Observer under the headline 'Tenby could become a giant nightclub', they're having a laugh.

The town council has the same powers as any individual to raise objections to late licence applications, whether they do it as council or as individuals.

The details of each application for a variation to licensing hours for each public house is published in the local newspaper, so therefore I don't see the necessity for an invite from the county council? Scaremongering by the council could lead to the headlines, 'Tenby has become a giant retirement home'.

Not everybody wants to go to bed at 11 pm, after all, it is a seaside resort, isn't it?
