Pembrokeshire's Picton Castle Trust launch their popular annual West Wales Summer Art Exhibition with a competition theme that's bound to get creative juices oozing. Artists living in Wales are invited to submit paintings on the theme of 'The Seven Deadly Sins', with the chance to win all or part of a £1,000 prize fund. Said Trust director David Pryse Lloyd: "Picton Castle has long been associated with the visual arts, so an annual art competition was an obvious development for us. The competition is judged by a panel of professional artists and the best entries will be exhibited in our Picton Gallery throughout July and August 2008. "It will be up to the judging panel as to whether they award one prize of £1,000 to an exceptionally outstanding work, or divide the prize fund between two or more artists. "Artist can choose whether they depict one or all of the Deadly Sins in their entry." For the record, the seven deadly sins are Lust, Gluttony, Greed, Sloth, Wrath, Envy and Pride. Entries must be submitted by Friday, May 30. For more details, terms and conditions and an entry form, either email the Trust on [email protected]">[email protected] or telephone 01437 751 326.
