Last week, the National Trust's Tudor Merchants House in Tenby was host to The Tudor Tailor, a wonderful talk and demonstration on reconstructing 16th century dress.

As one of only three venues in Wales, it was a great privilege to welcome Jane Malcolm-Davies and Ninya Mikhaila with their costumes and tales of life in Tudor times to a Tudor property, helping the audience to imagine themselves back in the period when Tenby was the largest port in Wales.

During the interval, mulled wine and Tudor style refreshments were served, with everyone really enjoying a very unusual evening.

For people interested in costumes of the period, a copy of The Tudor Tailor book was purchased for the property as staff are keen to make costumes to wear when conducting guided tours of the house. If anyone would like to be involved in this project, please telephone Alyson Bush, the custodian, on (01834) 842279. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
