Sir, Just a few thoughts about this season. It seems to have become such a commercial time of year and often the true meaning of Easter is buried under pretty cards, fluffy bunnies and chocolate Easter eggs. The reality of Easter is that Jesus Christ our Lord, overcame death and offers us a new life. He has given us the assurance of His presence at all times and forever. The true joy of Easter is God's victory over sin and the devil. We, too, can be triumphant through sorrow and pain. He is risen! Jesus is alive! It's Easter time! Happy Easter!
LOVING LORD
I know I cannot love you Lord, as much as You love me. I could not suffer as You did, nor die on Calvary. And yet, I choose to follow You, in my imperfect way. Knowing that You'll be there for me at the end of the day.
I cannot even take on board the concept of Your love. That You, the great Almighty God could come down from above. To take upon You all my sin, so I could be set free. How can I understand it all? Why did You die for me?
I wonder at Your sacrifice . . . the pain You must have felt. I cannot bear to think of it and all You underwent. All the agony You suffered of heart and mind and soul. Your broken body, on that cross, You gave, to make me whole.
I stand before the empty tomb and see no body there. No lifeless Son of God remains! You could be anywhere! I look at things with human eyes, trying to work things out. But this, I cannot comprehend! In no way can I doubt!
I thank You that You died for me, to make me pure and clean. You went to hell and back for me - such places I've not seen! You've shown me death is not the end - that there is more to come. For You, Yourself came back to life, to show it can be done!
I lift my hands to worship You and kneel before Your feet. Your Love has drawn me to Your side - a sacrifice complete! I know You are an awesome God, Lord of the Universe, But it was love that sent You down - for me, upon this earth!
