The 2014 Saundersfoot New Year's Day Swim will be the village's 30th . It will also be the 30th birthday for the swim's very own mascot, Charlie Shivers.

During the build up to NYDS 30, Charlie has looked back over his life identifying many highs he's had.

Charlie's story: This has to be the highlight of my 30 years, meeting the Queen. We had planned to meet a number of times before, but our busy schedules didn't allow it. She said that, although she won't be able to come to Saundersfoot on New Year's Day, she did ask me for tips on how to stay warm should she and Prince Phillip decide to go for a dip at Sandringham over the festive period.
