On Friday, July 14, world-famous indie rock band, The Fratellis are set to rock Pembroke Castle, along with post-Britpop superstars, Toploader, and support from refreshingly quirky WE-ARE-Z, and Pembrokeshire’s up-and-coming Vicetrack.

Best-known for their infectious top 10 hit Chelsea Dagger, played constantly in bars, clubs and at global sports events, The Fratellis shot to fame in 2006 with their debut album Costello Music, which spent 83 weeks in the top 100 of the UK charts, and included hits Henrietta and Whistle For The Choir, winning them the Brit Award for British Breakthrough Act in 2007. Since then, they have toured the world, released three more albums, in typically vibrant and tune-rich Fratellis style. The latest, Eyes Wide, Tongue Tied, released in 2015 and packed with Fratellis-shaped swagger, reached #16 in the charts. Just back from their sell-out UK tour celebrating Costello Music’s 10th anniversary, The Fratellis are now ready to rock Pembroke Castle!

Household name Toploader, one of the definitive bands of the early ’00s, responsible for the global hit Dancing in the Moonlight, which spent over a year in the European Airplay Charts, have over two million album sales to their name and a string of top 20 hits both at home and abroad. Their debut album, Onka’s Big Moka, sold over one million copies and remained in the top five of the UK album charts for over six months, earning them four Brit Award nominations. The band will be releasing their highly-anticipated fourth album, Seeing Stars, just two months before they play Pembroke.

WE-ARE-Z are a quirky Anglo-French concoction of indie-pop, disco-punk, glam-rock, bound together with a Mighty Boosh-esque mix of hot pink, feather boas, and animal masks. Hot off a successful 25 date European tour supporting Electric 6 of Gay Bar and Danger! High Voltage fame, WE-ARE-Z make up part of a not-to-be-missed Friday night line-up kicked-off by unsigned Pembrokeshire modern rock band, Vicetrack, comprised of Josh, Christian, and Jamie, whose music is a mash of rock and electronic dance beats.

Pembroke Castle’s events officer, Carys Mills, commented: “The feel-good music of The Fratellis and Toploader has made them firm festival favourites from T in the Park to Glastonbury. Now we can add Pembroke Castle to that list!”

Friday’s concert will be an electric start to the Rock the Castle weekend, also featuring The Bootleg Beatles, The Bootleg Beach Boys, and the live stage performance of Horrible Histories: The Best of Barmy Britain.

Tickets are £25 and will go on sale at 10 am on Friday, March 17 and will be available from the Pembroke Castle Gift Shop and online. For more information and to book tickets visit www.pembrokecastle.co.uk.
