THERE will be a private view of new paintings by Elizabeth Haines, 'The Edge of Memory' in the Queen's Hall Gallery, Narberth, tomorrow (Saturday) 2.30-5.30 pm.

It will be opened by Dr. Anne-Price Owen, senior lecturer at the School for Art and Design, Swansea Institute. It runs until Saturday, July 12, and the Gallery is open Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, 10 am to 5.30 pm. For other times please ring (01834) 861212.

Elizabeth Haines has lived and worked in Pembrokeshire since 1967. Her work explores the harmony and relationship between music and painting and her confident and bold use of colour expresses thoughts and emotions. Her new paintings are the result of her long PhD thesis research into the relationships between the Arts in the 20th century. She now draws on her long store of memories from 40 years of drawing from life to create her images, which in turn evoke memories and responses in the viewer. The artist still draws from life and some of her sketchbooks will be on show in the gallery.

She will also be giving a talk about her artistic inter-relationships based on her PhD dissertation 'The Web of Exchange' in the Gallery on Thursday, June 26, at 7.30 pm.
