IN a programme of classics tailored to suit a splendid setting, organist Michael Slaney, tenor Jonathan Lean and accompanying string players will perform in the Great Hall at Picton Castle, on Wednesday, October 17, at 7.30 pm.
It will be the first time in many years that Michael Slaney, an Oxford organ scholar and former assistant organist at St. David's Cathedral, performs on the castle's beautiful 18th century Snetzler organ. The programme will include Handel, Mozart, CPE Bach and others.
Tickets cost £15 per person and are available from the Picton Castle Trust office - telephone 01437 751326.
Concert-goers can add a meal at Maria's Mediterranean Restaurant and make it a real night out. Opening specially for this out-of-season occasion, Maria is offering a special concert buffet, for £10 per person.
The Great Hall seats 100 and Maria's Restaurant has a cosy 60 covers, so the buffet will be served both before the performance (at 6 pm) and after (approx 9 pm) to accommodate all who wish to book.
