Sir,
I would like to thank all the people who helped me to make the Narberth Golden Jubilee celebrations such a roaring success, even the weather was unexpectedly kind to us.
My special thanks go to John and Dafydd, of the Dingle, for the magnificent marquee they gave us for the day, without which we would not of had a party or a fete, and for providing all the tables and chairs for the event.
Also The Kings Christian Fellowship who, apart from providing everything for the Nominated Citizens Tea Party, did so much that it would be impossible to know where to start the list.
And not least John Rees (my husband) for putting up with me during the very stressful planning stages.
Thanks also to the members of the group who stuck together from the start through everything, especially Peter Barratt, Elizabeth Rogers, Iris Harman, Eric Feetham, Graham and Tina Perfect, Bodellee from the Guide Assoc. and Wyn Evans.
Thanks also to those who contributed either funds or goods to make the day possible: Narberth Town Council, Narberth Post Office, Darwin Bowie, Maxwell Walters, Narberth RFC and the Supporters Club, The Ivy Bush, The Dragon, The Farmers, the Coach & Horses, Plas Hyfryd, T. W. Thomas, Narberth Tractors, Narberth RAOB and the Ladies Committee, the Senior Citizens, Nobles, Herons Brook, In House Quilting, Jewsons, Bargain Box, A. Rees Butcher, Narberth CP School, SPAN, and James Williams.
There were also the people who gave a most valuable gift, their time, Owen O'Connell, Frank Bennett, Elvin Morgan, Shirley and Marion (RAOB Ladies), Seadna, Debbie, Claire and Shaylee (The Ivy), Mel, Helen and co. (Guides Assoc.), Iris and Mary (Senior Citizens), Val Bradley, Andrew Rees, Paul Thomas, Mrs. S. Thompson, Eddie McCabe, Jim and Mary Juke with their line dancers, Narberth Fire Brigade, the W.I. ladies, all the members of the KCF and many others whose names I do not know.
Last, but by no means least, I must thank Chris Allen, of West Coast Fireworks, for the fantastic firework display which was the 'grande finale' for the day.
I hope I have not forgotten anyone. I feel sure I can speek for the whole town when I say, we did have a wonderful day and thank you all!
Sue Rees.
