Sir,
Re. 'The dirtiest place in Tenby?' (Observer, February 6), can I ask the person who wrote the letter: Îs this the only place you go to in Tenby?
Because, as a person who was born and bred in Tenby and proud of it, it isn't the dirtiest.
These cleaners do the most thankless job there is, and as soon as they are cleaned, e.g. road, toilets, pavements etc., they are abused. I know, I was one of these cleaners.
If you want to keep them spotless, you have to stay on the job 24 hours a day. We never see people compliment these cleaners; only insults are printed. What about the verbal abuse they take?
How about taking time out and get the place power-washed again, and maybe the council will provide the paint, then gather up these vandals who do the damage to paint it as well. With the help of the public they will be caught. They could not do the job these cleaners do. We will then have better bus-stops, roads, toilets etc.
