Sir,

We would like to express our special 'thank you' to Karen Wilson (New Hedges) for travelling to Essex for the weekend (September 26-28) for a memorial fund-raising event. The evening was in memory of Graham Button, who was a young healthy man of 36 years of age when he was sadly taken from his devoted wife, Alison, and two children, Daniel, who was 10 years at the time, and Lauren who was six, October 14, 2006, son-in-law of John and Beryl Lawrence (Saundersfoot).

The charity to benefit will be CRY, which stands for Cardiac Risk in the Young. Every week at least eight apparently fit and healthy young people die in the United Kingdom from undiagnosed heart conditions. CRY's mission is to reduce the incidence and impact of young sudden cardiac death and support those diagnosed.

We were delighted with the event, which took place in Budworth Hall in Ongar, Essex. The evening was such a success that Karen has been asked to return again in January. The amount raised was just under £1,000.

For all those of you who don't know, Karen Wilson is a spiritual medium who came to the hall and spoke to many. She gave great comfort to all who spoke to her and helped so many come to terms with their loss and their grief. She has a special gift that cannot really be explained, but what she can offer means so much to so many. And I have been asked by all to thank Karen on their behalf.

So please accept this 'big thank you', Karen, from all who had the pleasure of meeting you in Essex.

Paula Otton,

Saundersfoot.
