Sir,
Although I left Whitland a very long time ago, I still consider it my home.
I secretly harbour a great deal of pride that even though I have not lived in the United Kingdom for over 20 years, I still have a Welsh accent and my kids consider themselves to be Welsh!
My husband is American, but even he looks forward to the day when he can retire and go 'home' to Wales.
Birthdays and celebrations are often bittersweet because we can't always share them with our loved ones in Wales, but we really have stayed close over the years, visiting as much as possible and running up huge 'phone bills.
I have had a lot of medical problems recently, but my spirits are high and my outlook is positive thanks to all of the great people in Wales who send me Take A Break and Chat magazines, copies of the Narberth and Whitland, and Flakes!
I just wanted to find a way to thank everyone for their kind thoughts and cards.
It is too much at the moment for me or my family to send individual thank yous to everyone, but I had to try to express my gratitude to them in some way because it really is impacting my recovery!
Diolch yn fawr iawn!
