Two of the Carten 100 founder riders, Peter Palmer and Lloyd Ridgwell, have presented a cheque for £10,000 to the Parents Association of ‘Coleg Elidyr’ - a special needs college for young adults near Llandovery in Carmarthenshire.
The Carten committee agreed to support the Coleg fitness facility appeal (raising funds to build a much -needed gym facility for these young people) alongside their main charity for 2016 - Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospital.
Coleg Elidyr Parents Association representative, Isabel Graham, said: “The annual Carten 100 bike ride from Cardiff to Tenby has grown from just a few riders in 2004 to over 2,000 riders this year! It has raised over £500,000 for various South Wales charities over the last 12 years.
“It’s an amazing event - well organised and a great atmosphere, especially on arrival in Tenby!
“Their support of Coleg Elidyr this year as one of their charities means so much to the Coleg learners and staff and this donation is just incredible.”
Thank you Carten 100!
