Last Sunday saw the first league meeting of the season between these two teams. Played at Tenby on a cold, windy day, the players struggled to produce the quality of football that they are known to be capable of.

Haverfordwest kicked off playing down a slight slope, with the wind behind them. Despite having only 10 players starting the game, they produced most of the attacking play, with wide players Vicky Planner and Marie Davies causing most of the threat.

Tenby struggled at times to make headway, but darting runs by Nicola Aston and Annie Davies caused the Haverfordwest defence some anxious moments.

The deadlock was broken midway through the half when Marie Davies burst through the Tenby defence to produce an unstoppable shot which gave Tenby 'keeper Angela Nicholls no chance .

A second goal was not long in coming when a through ball gave Vicky Planner the opportunity to race through and slide the ball past the oncoming Tenby 'keeper.

An unfortunate injury just before half-time to Haverfordwest 'keeper Jodie Cato meant that they were reduced to nine players, with Katie Roscoe taking her place.

With the wind at their backs Tenby increased the pressure, and the stand-in Haverfordwest 'keeper was called upon to make several excellent saves.

Tenby couldn't find the formula, however, to break the resolute defending of the Haverfordwest defence, and finished the match still looking for their first points of the season.

A good solid performance from an ever-improving Neyland side saw them overcome Goodwick.
