Sir,

As a resident of Warren Street, Tenby, I would like to bring to the attention of councillors and the police the major problems we have up and down the street.

Firstly, we have one bin at the top of the street by St. Johns Church, and the next bin is right at the bottom by the railway station. This is not enough; it leads to the inevitable dumping of beer cans, bottles, fish and chip wrappers and all manner of rubbish which ends up in peoples front garden areas.

Why can't we have more bins along the street. This is the main route from the train station where tourists travelling by train make their way into Tenby. What must they think? Well, as a guesthouse owner on the street, I know what they say, it's 'disgusting', that's what they say.

What a terrible first impression we are giving them of Tenby, which in these difficult financial times is not a good advert for the main employer in Tenby - tourism.

Which brings me to my second point. As I've explained, Warren Street is the main route into Tenby for tourists who travel by train. This is the same route for all the drunken yobs that arrive already drunk for a lager-fuelled night out, carrying cans of beer, shouting, swearing at the top of their voices and, with children on the street, this is totally unacceptable.

If this is not bad enough, the return journey, which can be from 10 pm onwards, is even worse, with the breaking of car wing mirrors, urinating in front porches, the stealing of guesthouse signs, again, singing, shouting and swearing at the top of their voices.

So we're told to ring the police, which goes through to Haverfordwest. If and when they answer the phone, the yobs have long gone by the time the 'boys in blue' arrive. So come on, give us some help, look at the train times, arrival and departures, and let's have a police presence at the peak times. It's not rocket science!

As residents we deserve a bit of protection; no actually we demand it - prevention is better than cure.

Mr. G. Lightwood,

Warren Street,

Tenby.
