This is Shelley Webb, of Flowers by Shelley, being helped by her boyfriend to decorate just one of the trees in a whole forest of festivity around Tenby.
“Matthew Ronowitz (of the Qube) came to me to help bring his ideas to life with a classy Christmas display: a forest of trees lit up just draws people in. It just makes you smile with joy as you see the amazing community come together to display Tenby’s spectacular Christmas trees,” she told the Observer last week.
“Having a theme around town has brought all the businesses together with such a community spirit and it’s such a honour to be part of designing and bringing the idea to life.”
Compliments have been flooding in from admirers of the displays, including Canon Andrew Grace, Rector of St. Mary’s.
“I popped into town yesterday to do a bit of shopping. It was one of those grey November late afternoons, and I saw the new Christmas trees around St Mary’s for the first time. What a joy to see them, and what a lift they give in these dark times. The trees are quite a novel approach, being rather small but very effective in their numbers. Congratulations to those who designed and decorated them, and thanks too to Tenby Town Council for helping to bring in the festive season, and contributing wonderfully to the forthcoming celebrations of the Birth of Jesus.”
